A Volta Lecture 2020/21

Sir Roger Penrose, Nobel Laureate in Physics (2020), delivered the 2020/21 A Volta lecture online on 20 January 2022 on 'From Black-Hole Singularities to Cosmic Cosmology'.

Harald zur Hausen, Nobel Laureat in Physiology and Medicine (2008), delivered the 2018/19 M Fraccaro lecture on 8 April 2019

Volta Lecture 2016/17

Sir Richard Peto, the 2016/17 Volta Lecturer, discussed on 25th May 2017 how the world can and should halve premature death.

M Fraccaro Lecture 2016/17

Mario Capecchi, 2007 Nobel Laureate for Physiology or Medicine, delivered the 2016/17 M Fraccaro Lecture on 6 April 2017.

RESEARCH ASSESSMENT

A major seminar series on Research Assessment in France, Germany, the UK and Italy took place in College from November 2016 to February 2017.

An early drawing of the battery by its discoverer, the scientist at the University of Pavia after whom the College is named.

NORTH WING

The new North Wing, completed in 2013, houses the 78 graduate members of College as well as 5 short term visitors.

GRADUATE STUDENTS

The College welcomes enquiries and applications from prospective PhD students. Further details under ‘Admissions’.

STUDYING ABROAD

The College has access to a number of schemes to enable its students to study abroad (see ‘Academic Life’).

I am a 4th year medical undergraduate enrolled in the Harvey Course (the Medical Course taught in English of the University of Pavia). I supervise in Medicine for the Harvey Course, I coordinate applications from the Volta Students Union to Acersat, the University body that supports students' activities and I offer the Course in Personal Development Planning to the new students admitted to College.
